Release Notes: MobileFuse SDK 1.3.1

MobileFuse SDK 1.3 is a major step forward for the MobileFuse SDK that includes many new features and improvements.

Thumbnail Ads

Thumbnail ads are a new and unique ad unit that offers an entirely incremental revenue stream. Thumbnails are unobtrusive videos that float on top of your app content.

You can specify the position of the thumbnail ad, and the app user can drag them around to reposition, or tap to expand them into a fullscreen experience.

Rewarded Ad Support

Rewarded ads are now supported on iOS, Android and Unity, including in our custom adapters for AppLovin MAX and AdMob Mediation.

Rewarded ads will remain on the screen for a longer duration before the user can close or skip them. A callback is triggered to grant rewards to the user for watching the ads. These callbacks are also used by the mediation platforms that we support so that we can deliver rewarded ads seamlessly to publishers using AppLovin MAX or AdMob Mediation/GAM.

AdMob Mediation/GAM Adapter Update

We now support the latest mediation adapter standards for Android V21/iOS V9. This allows our SDK to initialize prior to the first bid requests which will improve the response time and initial fill rate for AdMob/GAM integrations.

Additional improvements

The SDK also has improved error reporting, allowing us to catch issues with bad campaigns or invalid ad markup delivered from bidders before it impacts publisher apps.

We pass more bidding fields to improve win rates and to provide better user experience for video ads.

Publishers have more control over the way that ads render, with our Advanced Configuration settings, allowing to specify clickthrough behavior and skip durations for interstitial/video ads.

Fixes and Stability

Version 1.3.0 brings a handful of minor fixes to the SDK to ensure that it is even more capable of delivering and rendering ads in unexpected situations and edge cases. Our automated internal error reporting system allowed us to make the SDK more robust when invalid ad markup or demand-side issues crop up.

The SDK is now more cautious when it comes to thread safety, which eliminates the potential for rare system-level bugs to occur.

All network requests are now compressed by default, to increase networking performance and reduce device bandwidth.
